Eastside Café: one of Birmingham’s best-kept secrets

Leave Digbeth High Street, walk past the police station and down Allison Street, turn right and at 99 Coventry Street you will see Eastside Cafe, one of the winners of Birmingham Green Restaurant Awards.

Sometimes described as a ‘greasy spoon’ café, with bacon sandwiches, beans on toast and baked potato dishes, it has an imaginative range of options for meetings and parties, serving buffets, afternoon tea, and working lunches. The founder-proprietor, Dorinda Long, has a range of catering qualifications which led her from work in several Birmingham 5* hotels to London as a sauce chef. 

A websearch reveals that a breakfast club meets there every week on Wednesday, starting at 7.30am.
