A Lancashire doctor responds to news about the warming of relations between India and Pakistan

.

After reading The Siachen Glacier as a ‘peace park’. . ., he wrote:

“What a splendid idea, refreshing to know both the countries are thinking of peace. The millions spent on keeping the army in this area could be better spent on the welfare of the people, needed badly.

“My partner (from Pakistan) and I (from India) set up our practice in 1972 and worked together for 32 years. People were surprised & some shocked that we had not bothered to draw up a contract.

”The surgery had all different races & religions but we all managed to get on well and work harmoniously – and every few months I still meet my partner and our practice manager for lunch.”

.

This is a cheering precedent and one which could be scaled up on the sub-continent.
