Network news: Jackie Carpenter at Trelay

Trelay’s bid to the Government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change,  has been successful and a grant of £76K awarded from their Local Energy Assessment Fund (LEAF).

LEAF aims to support communities across England and Wales to play an active role in the development of a low carbon society where energy supply is both secure and affordable.

Money is made available to finance projects that increase understanding and uptake of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies and help to make energy supply secure and affordable for everyone in the local community.

It will give us the opportunity to install and test different forms of insulation on three of the Trelay properties and also to support similar work in St Gennys.

The sustainability group at Trelay Farm is doing engagement work with this wider community and holding some educational sessions regarding the benefit of insulation.
