Co-operative and Community Finance has supported a record number of employee buyouts. These have saved jobs, regenerated local economies and kept ownership and control of firms in their local community.
The Renewable Energy Co-operative (R-ECO) is a worker co-operative in Cornwall, started by a group of renewable energy professionals in 2008, which installs renewable energy systems for homes, businesses and communities. Every employee owns an equal stake in the business and has a say into how the business is run. To read more about its members click here.
In its latest newsletter we read that CCF has lent R-ECO the funding to take on larger contracts including the installation of solar PV systems at a former tin mining site which is being converted as a community centre.
