Social business cities in Italy, Germany and Japan

Shafi Chowdhury sends us news of a civic meeting on July 11th in Italy at which Pistoia was declared the first Italian Social Business City.

The aim is to create an environment for social business and social innovation with an emphasis placed on networking with local, national and international actors.

A programme has been developed by the Yunus Social Business Centre at the University of Florence – 30kms from Pistoia – which includes training activities and workshop for students; consulting services for entrepreneurs; technical and financial assistance for the start up of social enterprises; activities for the involvement of third sector organisations . . .
